Johnny Depp was born on June 9, 1963. In
Johnny's youth his family moved from place to
place a lot: over 20 times. When he was 13, his
mother bought him a guitar and he started
playing in bands. Eventually Johnny and his
band Six Gun Method moved to Los Angeles to
try and get a record contract. Unfortunately, they
never got a contract.
On December 28th, 1983, Johnny married Lori
Anne Allison: the sister of the drummer of the
band. This caused a big fight and the band soon
broke up. Now unemployed, Johnny took a job
as a ball-point pen salesman. Then his wife
introduced him to actor Nicholas Cage. Nicholas
Cage advised Johnny to become an actor.
Johnny took his advice and started a career in
acting. His first movie was A Nightmare on Elm
Street.
Johnny Depp went on to star in the popular TV
show 21 Jump Street. He then left TV to focus
on cinema. Depp has starred in dozens of
movies, where he usually play off-beat
characters. He has regularly appeared in the
films of director Tim Burton, including Edward
Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory and most recently
The Corpse Bride.
Despite his smooth career in acting, Johnny
Depp's personal life has been a bit rough. He
divorced his wife in 1985 and since has been
engaged to several other actresses like Winona
Rider, Jennifer Gray, and supermodel Kate
Moss. Johnny Depp now has a steady
relationship with French singer Vanessa Paradis.
They have two children together and have
houses in both Los Angeles and France.
